ActivePerl release 5.8.8.816 is out, bringing the popular Windows distribution of Perl to parity with last month's 5.8.8 source release. Good news all around for speed freaks, too: According to the release notes, the Mac OS X version is apparently a Universal Binary, and there's beta-level support for 64-bit Windows, Linux, and SPARC Solaris. So if you've got a shiny new Intel Mac or want x86_64/64-bit SPARC support, they've got you covered.
